SFTC Food Series Rules
- Participants must be track club members and preregister for entire series (volunteer points can be used)
- Participants must complete all 4 races to receive shirt (but do not have to eat all food products) Example: Susie does the Taco Run, but cannot eat the last taco. She forfeits her bib, and finishes the race. She does not get any points for that race, cannot win the grand prize female award for the series, but still gets the shirt if she completes the other races)
- Scoring system: Runners receive points based off of total participants and the place they finish in the race. Races are untimed. Example: 55 people run the Hot dog mile. The first person across the line gets 55 points, second person gets 54 points . ..etc. No points are awarded to finishers who do not finish the food product. (Their bib is pulled and no finish line points are awarded for them at that race. They still are eligible for the shirt)
- Grand prizes awarded for Male and Female with highest total points. (all food must be consumed to be eligible for Grand Prize.) Winners announced at the SFTC Banquet where they receive a $50 Publix gift card.
- Team/Family Competition (2-4 participants): For a $50, a team of 2-4 runners could complete the challenge taking the highest score from each race towards the Team/Family Grand Prize Trophy Competition. Family/Team participants are not eligible for the individual competition grand prize. (For points to be eligible, all of the participants on the team must each complete all of the races. For family/team points towards grand prize the runner must have consumed all of the food product at that race and all team/family members must finish the distance). Example the Jones family of 4 Run the Hot Dog Mile. Mom finishes third overall and scores 47 points, Brother finishes first overall but does not consume all of the hotdogs, Dad finishes tenth overall and scores 40 points, and sister finishes last and scores 10 points. Their family score would be 47 points for that race.
