The course for Chase the Turkey in Richlands, Va., is a 5.5 mile grueling out and back course (from the Claypool Hill Mall to Tazewell county airport and back) with over 2,000 ft of elevation gain during the course of the race. It was 30F at the start with 10 mph winds. This run is not for the faint of heart.
While the numbers of a participants were few, a great time was had by those who were up for the challenge! While it is a free event, all finishers were treated to an official "chase the turkey" knit hat and bandana!! Overall Male and Female Turkey Trophies were awarded as well.
